The Annual Big Bear Bronco Bash for ’07 is over :( The trip was short but sweet for me and Noah. My bro Augy was kind enough to invite us to stay in cabin 11 which worked out really well for us and a couple other of the fellas and their kids (Roland and Jose). We arrived on Friday afternoon to see a lot of Broncos already on site and almost as much out on the trail. We immediately got to checking out the vendor stands and some of the rides out there and the fun began. As the evening progressed more than a few friends asked which trail we were going to run and my response was always “I don’t know” but finally committed to whatever clipboard had the least signups on it. While browsing the lists I saw my friend Steve Bennett was leading a run down Dishpan Springs, “I’m in!” Noah and I had a great day on the trail which was mostly mild and stress free until after getting through a 2hr traffic jam we got to Devils Slide. My spotter hero Steve Bennett guided the group cleanly down sketchy off camber decent. Everyone made it through and was happy to not have to go back up which I misinformed them on earlier in the day :) On the way back to camp Dawn Rowe lost a front brakeline and needed some help. The pics below show that we were not short of that. The gang got her going again and to be safe had her and the kids Drive Lees nice blue Bronco home and he drive hers. Thanks Lee! We all zoomed home to try our raffle luck. I dont know what kind of good luck charms they brought but man all the great prized were scooped up by a few multiple prize winners. Sunday we reluctantly left the Cottages and waved goodbye to whoever was still at the camp and got on the road home smiling the whole way back down to civilization. I really missed Wanda and Lauryn, the trip isnt the same without them. We got home early enough to take them down to a free music festival and chill with some cold beers and great music in the streets of Downtown LA. Thanks to everyone involved and making this 100+ Bronco event as awesome as can be.
